TxDon,
I used to clip my phone on the rops hinge, and use a velcro strap through the case hinge to make it more secure, but I never remembered to look to see if I missed any calls, and never heard the phone anyway.
I have some narrow two sided velcro strap I got from a camping place. Hooks on one side and loops on the other. I wrapped it around two of the spokes of the steering wheel, in a way that gave me one cross piece for the phone to clip to. Then I put a second small piece of the same velcro through the case hinge, and after the phone is clipped on, I stick this extra velcro to what is on the steering wheel, for extra security. I've attached a photo.
Works really well. I still don't hear the phone if the engine is running, but it is very easy to notice if I miss a call. I mean the important calls like being called to lunch or dinner! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
That little clock, which came from the local dollar store is great too. I stuck a small patch of velcro tape on the wheel spoke, and a second small patch of the velcro on the back of the cheap watch, and...instant office at the tractor seat! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I don't wear a watch, so having the time in front of my nose like that is helpful sometimes... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
