Price Check Tractor & Accessory Valuation

Good Afternoon!

My employer is moving my job (and my family and I) to a new location -- a more urban/residential location. While the move comes with a nice set of incentives :thumbsup:, it forces me to sell a decent sized home, on a decent sized plot of land, and a fantastic Kubota tractor that has made my life so much easier.

Problem is, I have no idea how to value the tractor setup I have today... Hoping the braintrust can help put me in the ball park?

I suggest $1,000 less than your dealer invoice price.

Your depreciation expense will be $1,000 plus no recoup on sales tax.

Few are successful selling a melange such as yours, used, as a package.

See if your dealer will accept the package and sell it on consignment.

Separate and sell the trailer,Box Blade,mower and forks. Then worry about the tractor and what's left on it's own.

It is QUITE unlikely that you will find a complete package buyer.
I would suggest putting the individual items on Craigslist with pictures, but that will take up a lot of your time.
There is no easy answer for your situation.
Perhaps you can find a dealer who will take the whole group, to sell as individual pieces on consignment.
Expect to take an overall financial bath!

My first thought is - does your company also offer relocation benefits & if so you should check into what all they offer.

My company has an incentive whereby they will by your house/property from you (and then it becomes their problem to sell) so you don't have the overhead of dealing with it during a relocation.

If you have access to such a benefit I would include the equipment as part of my "farm" and see what their offer would be on the entire package (using your purchase documents to show what you paid as proof of value).

Barring that, I'm with the others who have said to list them on CraigsList (you can make one large ad but price the equipment individually & offer a "package incentive")

As far as trying to find out what they are worth, again I would search CraigsList for the "market value" in your area and you can also look things up on tractorhouse.com as well.

I agree with most of the commenters that say to sell it on craigslist. I also agree that you will probably take a financial beating. There is a direct correlation between pricing and time to sell. Higher price and it will take longer. Price it to sell and it will.

Here is a stab at actual selling prices:

2016 Kubota L3901HST 4x4 - $17,500

Land Pride RCR1860 Brush Hog - $1100
Land Pride BB1260 Fixed Blade Box Scraper - $400
Land Pride Pallet Forks - $400
Grade Master Bionic Blade - had to look this one up - couldn't find a price, though - I'd say (unfortunately) about half of whatever you paid for it.
Receiver Hitch Plate with Skid Steer Quick Attach - $250
Speeco Category 1 3-point Quick Attach - $100
Pro-Pull 30ft double-axle trailer - hard to price - is it gooseneck? Maybe $4500

I'm sure none of my guesses on price make you very happy. If you have time, price it higher and wait for the right guy to come along. Keep in mind that tractoring season is coming to an end quickly. Prices do not improve in the fall / winter.
