I live close to Olympia Washington and would like advice on what tractor to buy and dealers in the area.

I have 7.5 acres hilly silty clay soil. I can only work about 3-4 acres. I would like to make trails and to terrace 3 acres for garden. Move dirt and help lift rocks for wall. I'd like something with a wide stance and low center of gravity. What implements would you guys/gals suggest. i.e FEL etc. Money is tight so grey market is an option i'd like to explore.

Thats all i can think of for now.

TIA

Yeah I saw the answers you were getting up there on the Lexus/Mercedes, er buying, board.

First, all grey market tractors are narrow by definition - so hills and grey market do not go together well in my humble opinion.

Anyhow, on a limited budget you can either look for a used brand name compact, which can be hard to find and will often lack features like hydrostatic tranny etc. or possibly look into something alternative like a Power Trac or Ventrac which provide excellent stability on hills.

A cemetary near me has really hilly, terraced terrain and they only use Power Tracs with front mowers and front buckets. Really neat machines for the right application.
