Tractor backhoe - homemade

My day job is maintenance of electronic equipment at a factory. It has little or no connection to this but...this is what I really like to do and would love to do as a primary job...perhaps some day when I have enough $ to start my own buisness

Firstly, I would like to say how much I enjoyed this thread and how awestruck I am at your skill set and how you turn your thoughts into reality in steel .

Secondly, I think you are overlooking a huge income stream that is at your fingertips . If you were to design attachments and put them into digital format, we could purchase your plans and have the components Laser/Plasma cut and all we would need to do is weld them together and source cylinders etc .

There are tens of thousands of people like us here who would buy your plans, potentially millions of dollars .

I seriously think you should put some thought into it .

Congrats, there should be a TBN award for the effort, planning and attention to detail you put into your backhoe build .

This heavy flat welding would be a good place for 5/32 7024.

Ewwwww: you are bringing back old memories.

CAT 990 Bucket rebuild to be specific.

Very nice work on the hoe arms! Back in the day I ran a boring bar machining parts like that and the pivot points had solid slugs welded in place. We would use a large saw cutter to machine between the bosses then drill/bore the pivot pin holes in-line. Will there be final machining or is the OP going to line-up finished pin bosses then weld them in place? Interesting thread that brings back great memories!

Eagleview, I appreciate your words, thank you. Well I could make cad files but I don't know your laws so I'm gonna have to look into it...

Ruffdog, the plan is to weld already machined bushings into place with pins inside so they line them up. I'm aware it's better to use line boring to get perfect results but I still don't have line boring machine

First two are at 90%, but I just could not resist putting them together for the first time just to see the reach...so here it is...

Wow, looks awesome so far! How many hours do you have invested at this point?

What kind of controls are you going to have on it? The best option I can think of is something like a telhandler has where you press and hold a button to use a 4 motion joystick to accomplish 6 movements.

I'm not sure, stopped counting hours some time ago. :)
I will use 2 Nimco joysticks with buttons and electromagnetic diverter valves so there will be no foot pedals this time. It's better and faster (and more expensive) this way
