Tractor cab

I built a tractor cab frame and bought a golf cart cover to go over it. I got the idea from posts on this sight.
Now this is my question, Is there a way to get the wrinkles out of the vinyl windows? Without melting it. Or should I just put up with them.

I wonder if you put a small electric heater inside to warm the plastic and maybe the wrinkles will work themselves out?? Just a thought.

Have you tried a hair dryer? It might be worth a shot.

yep, hair dryer or heat gun but keep it moving ...and, simply being patient, many wrinkles will iron themselves out

Is the frame made out of pvc pipe? How does it all hold up to wind? looks like a great idea, i'm thinking about copying it for next winter.

NO, the frame is made out of steel tubing I had laying around from a canopy that the wind destroyed.

I've got a portable vinyl golf cart windshield for my Kawasaki Mule that secures via bungy cords attached to the roll bar. Never have been able to get the wrinkles out of it. Just about useless. Can't see much of anything

INMHO you won't get the wrinkles out.
You can live with the sides as is, but front need to be flat for good viewing.
Maybe replacing the soft flex vinyle with a similar sheet of plexi or lexan could do the trick.
I suspect that the vinyle could be somehow glued to a plexi to make a rigid front window being as both are of the 'plasic' family. Trick would be to find a suitable adhesive.
(Could that be an automotive windshield sealant? or door seal adhesive?)
Personally, I'd try FLEXTRA, which is a polyurathane caulking 'in a tube'.

I have not tried yet. The tractor is is at my cottage and that is 80 miles away. I will be going there this coming weekend and will let you know what happens.

I have thought of this but will try other things first since I don't need it till winter.

Well, I finally have an update. Everyone was right; I can't get the wrinkles out so I went with a different plan. I cut out the front vinyl window and added a Plexiglas window instead. I used Velcro around the edges to secure the cart cover to the Plexiglas. It worked great and I have some pictures for everyone.

I don't wanna come off as a fear monger, but please make sure that loose material can't possibly get caught on anything ... like a rear tire (or PTO shaft) :shocked: It might wrap you up like a cocoon, drag you off & run you over

You can't see them but there are hooks that keep it inside the fenders.
