Tractor came home!!

Youare, When you get ready to buy a digital camera, take a look at the Olympus C-2100UZ. It is a fairly comfortable size, and one of the very few I found with good zoom capabilities 10x optical, 2.7 Digital and a respectable pixel size at 2.1. It use the Smart Media chip, it has image stabilization etc. etc.
I bought one last fall and I love, you could not ask for nicer picture quality, in fact a Photographer friend of mine wants to try it at some weddings to see if it will work for him.
At around $600 w/ S+H included and an extra 64 Mb smart media card it isn't real cheap, but Well Worth the money. Attached is a picture of a C-2100UZ

Mark,

Can you please post a few pictures you've taken with this 2100 or point me to some posts with your pictures...

I'm waiting for an upgrade release to the E100... but I can't hold my breath...

How does this camera handle fast sports action shoots with the stabilizer turned off...?

I apologize for this not being tractor related, but. Attached is a picture taken with the Olympus C-2100UZ.
I took it one day last September while kayaking on lake Winnipesaukee. It is one of the many lake front homes that have evolved form cottages over the years.
Your mission if you choose to except it, is to wash all the windows.
The picture had to be reduced from 1600 x 1200 to
800 x 600 for TBN As I said earlier, this camera takes excellant pictures.

Sorry about that, not quite sure what I did to that picture.

John,
I am still learning how to operate it so everything I have taken has been with image stabilization on. I am going to try attaching a picture I took of a boat speeding past one day. I thought it capurted the boat in motion very nicely, although I am not and never will be an expert photographer. If you would like to read up on the camera, I found this site was very helpful. Look under Cameras / Olympus

Very stunning photos...

I want one of those cameras... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Muhammad has a very high end Olympus {don't know the model} and his photos are crystal clear as well...

I'm a neophyte with the camera as well... that's why I like the digital... keep on shooting until something comes out right... /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

and the film developing costs on a digital camera is the best bargain of all... /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Mark... they truly are sharp pictures... I've got the itch for a new camera now...

John,
Thank you for the compliment. with the camera set for 1600 x 1200 my 64 MB smart media card will hold 45 pictures. If I lower the resolution, it of course holds more.
I choked and whined ( $$$ ) some when I bought it, but I figured for me, it was a once in a life time purchase.

Yup! Muhammad and I both have the Olympus C-2500L, which appears to be an ancestor of Mark's 2100. I don't think Mark mentioned that these are SLR (single lens reflex) and have built-in macro capability. Mine was hot stuff a couple of years ago, but I'll gladly trade my 3x optical zoom for Mark's 10x.

I've bored y'all silly with pictures I've taken up at the property over the past year or two, but I've attached one of my favorites here as a low-res sample.
