Rusty,
Great pictures; Thanks!!
From the pic of the bracket it looks like I could cut off the part that's higher than the long base; what do you think?

Here is a picture of my home spun canopy. A canopy is a life saver here in the south. Yesterday the temps were above 100 here. I am to old to sit out in that kind of heat and try to mow.

stump54 - I don't know what you are thinking of cutting down, unless you are talking about the canopy support rails. Without looking at the bracket and rails more closely, I don't believe there is any practical way to reduce height without destroying the canopy's functionality or structural integrity. I will try to get you close-up pictures of the bracket with the canopy removed, and of the canopy rails, however, I won't be able to get them until at least tomorrow.

I want to get a canopy too. I hate the heat.

On the picture of the bracket, you took from the rear, it looks like there's about 1/2" that sticks up. I can see two slots just above two bolt heads and if was cut there it would just about take off the words "The convertable top for tractors and mowers". Am I missing something because this looks like just extra metal for their logo?

A canopy is a great idea on a CUT. I made one myself with a wood frame, canvas cover and a couple steel support bars (about 4 hours and $20.00). It sure makes it nice out there mowing the clover fields all day long under the hot sun. CUT's really dont have the HP to spare for running an effective A/C system in a cab, not to mention the extra fuel cost. The canopy also does not reduce visibility a bit and is compatable with a backhoe. Also, I can have mine off in 5 minutes so I can fold down the rollbar to get into some lower clearance barn doors, try that with a cab.

I didnt realize how the Tuff Top made the overall height higher.. Does it add too much height to get it in a regular garage (assuming the tractor would fit prior to adding the top) without folding rops?

Rusty - Did you go one size larger than the Tuff Top website recommends for compact tractors? I am guessing going from the 44 to a 52 would give better coverage over the steering wheel, but both would fit the same on the ROPS?

Assuming you have a folding ROPS and you need they have to be folded to get into a garage, I am correct in thinking the Tuff Top would be easier to handle/fold down while attached to the ROPS?

thanks

Brian
