Tractor died!

I have a MF 1250. Suddenly died on me. Will not heat the coil or even try to turnover starter. Cables and connections are good and clean on the battery. Blinkers and all other dash lights, horn have power. It would seem there is just no power to the ignition starter and preheat.

Any guesses what my problem may be?

I'm not familiar with the MF1250, but I think I'd be looking for a blown fuse.

Tomm,
I know very little about the MF tractor,but like Bird wrote check your fuses also recheck your battery terminals for they could be lose or a little corrosive..it doesn't take much.

Check your ground also positive to your starter electric system carefully.

If you have a 12volt meter check to see if the power reaching your starter.

Do your starter just make a clicking sound when turning the key?

Maybe a wire under the dash has loosen.

Most of the times the problem will be easy to find and fix,so take care.

Tomm, I thing you will find that one of your slow blow fuses are blowed. One is green colored (40A)and inline on the right side in front of the radiator. The other one is a inline 60A and it is on the right side of the engine above the injection pump. These are usually melted when "sustained" heavy electrical load or short circuit is encountered. The 60A one is usually melted from incorrect polarity from a booster battery (jumper cables backward). If one of these is the problem, only replace with OEM parts or you will still have problems.
