hello and thanks for the good advice given. I did look at some dealerships to get a feel for things. Most likely wont be buying for a while unless i find a good deal.Still lots of more research to complete.

Libertine,
I know all machines can be dangerous.I plan on being a safety nut like all things i do. I wear safety goggles when doing just about any drilling or hammering. So I know when to be safe in soem situations. But on a tractor i cant recognize all hazards lack experience. But, if safety options are avalible why not use them? Similar to buying a car with or without airbags. I do have quite a slope to get to the back part of my property but i wont be working on the hill. But being a first time opertor with little experience I think safety features could benefit me at least they wont hurt. If I have to pay $2000-3000 more for safety features and that feature could save my limb or life then it is money well spent at least I think.

Well . . . how about a skid steer? Weld up additional reinforcing bars on the existing cage, add 12" of foam padding on the inside and use a full harness to strap yourself in. Just kidding. Tractors are inherently dangerous. Go slow. Pay attention. TBN sells an angle/tilt measure you can mount on your tractor. If you don't have a "sense" of the relation of the tractor to the ground, that would be a worthwhile "safety" item.

Good luck.
