Insurance agents get paid to sell insurance. Ask them if it's covered in your homeowner's insurance. If you use it exclusively on the insured property (not for hire), then it likely is covered. Make them tell you no. I called my insurance agency (USAA) and got a letter, with the VIN, which stated the tractor was covered up to my policy limit, which is more than enough. They should give you a letter saying yes or no, including the VIN, if you ask them to.
In New York State any-way;mine is covered under my home owners at no addittional cost.
