Sorry if this has been posted, I did search.
How many of you guys insure your tractor? Is it covered under homeowners (for around the property use, not comm)? Should I get a special set up for it under homeowners? Thanks...

I have a special rider on my homeowners for mine.

But it is only covered on my property, not on the road in front of my house while clearing snow, nor at my neighbors. A different policy is needed for that.

Ours are covered under homeowners and an additional liability clause through our LLC, but it is only good on our property or in transit between farms.

Seperate policies on the tractors and several pieces of equipment.

The best thing to do is contact your insurance provider. Here I need a rider to cover anything for fire and theft that is not normaly kept in the house. And I can almost bet my farm that you need liability insurance to cover yourself incase of acidents that you are involved in.
As for driveing any moterised vehical on public roads no matter where you live you would be foolish not to have your tractor insured for plpd. My car insurance has a rider for my tractor on it, again ask your insurance provider.
Oh yes and remember that when on public roads all laws are in force for tractors as well as cars and trucks.
There may even be additional laws about operating slow moveing vehicles where you are, such as an approved sign on the rear fender and flashing lights. Your local ag. rep. is a good person to talk to about tractors on roads.

Keep my tractor on remote property so my home owners doesn't cover it. Only way I could find coverage was to buy an "Inland Marine" policy. Mine cost $250/year for $20K coverage. It is through Great American Insurance Group.

My tractor is allowed on the highway and must therefore comply with all the regulation applying to cars and other vehicles, including compulsary insurance. The cost is 150 Euros a year (not too bad compared with the 750 Euros for the 400 hours check).
