Tractor license plates?

Shh, don't tell the county where I live. That would guarantee they would get their Annual Personal Property Tax; it is levied on any thing not part of a building or considered expendable products. most folks except businesses ignore the tax till caught. They audit businesses regularly as they are an easy mark. The fines for not reporting are more than the piddley tax.

Thanks Piloon!
My 1965 Chevy pickup came with seatbelts, but the seatbelt law didn't come into effect until 1971. I bought the Chev in Alberta (it was built in Oshawa, ON) in 1977. The first thing I did to it was remove the seatbelts at the bolt that holds them to the floor bracket. The law read that IF the vehicle wasn't built with them, then you didn't need to use/install them. Seatbelts were an option in 1965. I made sure that the line setting tickets were all gone. The one in the glove box AND the one that is under the seat in the springs of the seat. I got stopped when I was bringing it back into Ontario and told the cop that it wasn't manufactured with them and that is why I didn't have to use 'em. He got on the radio and checked, found out I was right and let me go with the suggestion that I install them (like that was gonna happen).

I think you need tractor plates in taxachusetts, at least that's what my friend who lives there calls it. lol Also on every farm wagon or trailer that goes on a public road.

Sure glad I don't live in any of the states that require any of that!

I guess that sounded bad the way I said it. They don't lose that many all at once. They would call me now and then and it isn't always convenient especially if the backhoe isn't mounted. So, I suggested we could prepare for the future a bit and then the weather or my schedule wouldn't be an issue.

They are good people registered with the state for horse rescue and take in some very sad animals. The need exceeds the rescue places' capacities. They usually have anywhere from 20-30 horses. Some get adopted, some don't.

This is their site:

It would take a pretty mean-spirited person to summons you for that.

Not really. Just the way it is-- however sad for everybody and they do take a loss hard. A horse can go from sick to real sick overnight it seems. At some point they and vet decide when it's time to throw the towel in. Euthanasia by injection is the the kindest thing to do sometimes. Typically these animals have been through a lot of abuse, poor feeding and lack of care before they get to the rescue place. They don't lose many considering the condition most arrive in.

They need someway to dispose of the horse and they don't have a backhoe. I don't charge them. The operation runs on volunteers and donations.

They have decided, and I guess it is the preferred method, that a ~3'-4' deep trench with hay underneath the horse and then well covered creates a composting environment that works pretty well. Better than deep burial.

No, I understand what you're saying. Horse people get even more attached to their wards than people do to dogs.

I meant mean-spirited as in "summonse you to court for driving without a plate"... Guess that I should revisit the " Spelling/punctuation thread." :D

I gotcha now. :) If I were given a ticket on the way to help someone doing good work. Yes, that would be mean.

Massachusetts has a FARM plate that can be attached to any vehicle that is used on the farm and driven on the road. If you put it on your truck.

I'm not aware of any specific tractor plate.
