Two tractors..both Mitsubishi. MT160D 4WD with a Brush Cutter. The other is a MT1601 4WD with a loader
I just bought a Mitsu..MT1601D with an Allied #95 loader. I want to change the transmission fluid on this tractor which as I understand operates the loader as well. If I just drain the fluid per the tractor manual, clean the filter and fill with new fluid, is there any thing else I have to do to the loader lines?.....do I need to bleed air out of the lines some way.,.or does the hydraulic pump just naturally take care of that?

I am in no way an expert but I just changed the fluid in my Kubota L4400. I just made sure the FEL cylinders were all in the retracted position, changed the fluid and back to business. No bleeding, etc required. Everything works perfectly fine. After the change, you can extend and compress the cylinders a few times to get any air out. Just raise and lower the boom, curl and dump the bucket. That should do it.

As long as you don't admit any air into the lines/cylinders, you won't have to bleed the air out but as stated any air is easilly handled by cycling all the cylinders a few times.

This of course won't change any of the fluid in the cylinders or hoses. It is a little more involved to change out most of this fluid and involves raising the loader and bucket. With the loader in the air and the bucket fully rolledback, shut down the engine and drain the fluid and remove the filter/strainer. with the resovoir empty and the suction side exposed to the air, dump the bucket and then lower the loader(by gravity), letting the weight of the loader/bucket compress the cylinders and force the fluid back to the resovoir from the full side of the cylinders while the other side draws air from the empty resovoir. This of course will involve purging the air from the system after you refill the resovoir and still won't get the fluid in the lines, so most people don't bother. The fluid in the cylinders is a fairly small percentage of the total volume anyway.
