I was using my FEL today with the pallet fork on it. I was using the tilt to pick things up (nasty habit learned from skid steer) and busted the hinge point right off of my loader where the bucket attaches. I looked it ove anr it appears that the way it was designed the bushing was just welded into the end of the arm with no other support. I am looking for an Idea on the fix for this. Any suggestions would be appriciated. I do think I know why this happened. I boutght a QA for the tractor that had 3 top mount points. I think I mounted them too low causing the tilt rams to be pulling back hard on the bottom point. It tore off so It was likely the rams pulling on it.

I need to fix this lickty split so any suggestions will be concidered.

You could weld another bushing on the end, then grab some 1/8" flat stock & weld beyond where you welded the bushing on, covering your first weld. Now instead of 2 welds on each side (top & bottom), you have 6.

I tried to take some pix tonight but the camera was to cold to work. I will get some after work tomorow. I did find another signifigant crack on the other side. Probably because I continued to use it after it broke.

Well I couldnt get pix while it was broken, but I hav attached pix of the repaired arms. I found out what the problem was. The ATI quick attach I bought was hitting the arm whan I was dumping. That is why when I pointed the forks straight down to push myself out it broke the eyelet out.

So of course I Fixed it back the way it was before I figured out why it had done what it did, so I had to rework it. By that time the wind was blowing and I got a bunch of booger welds. Sometimes the mig is not the right machine for the job.

Anyway as soon as it dries up a bit I will try it out.
