First I would like to say how much I enjoy reading, and all the information I get from all of you.
Just had the 50 hour service done on my L4240, this was done at the dealership. They replaced all fluids at this time including hydro. There thought if anything is in hydro oil from production its removed then, there next hydro change 400 hours?? Read a lot of post about just changing filter at this time??
Labor: 169.95
All parts filters and fluids 431.96
Total parts and labor 601.91 (WOW)
70.43 HST high pressure Filter???

My only comment is that these things are pretty easy to service and save a few bucks, we do it on our BX, L5030 and M8540 and we are certainly not mechanics.

i talked to my dealer about the full 50hr service an they said it would cost me $500 or more.so i decided to run mine another 50hrs to 100hrs an then change everything.ive got close to 60hrs on it now.

Yes I agree it is not difficult have other machines and have done maintenance to most. One problem
Getting ride of oil. Another if warranty issue comes up.

My brothers and nephew are mechanics and haul my waste oil off. I spoke with my dealer and cleared the warranty issue. I usually buy all my supplies from him or if elsewhere keep the receipts.

Great to have mechanics in family. Most of mine are teachers no help with waste oil.

There must be an error in the original post reqarding the UDT2 price of $236.20 6 gallons.

It runs approximately $21/gal depending on the container size.
$21.37 for 1 gallon containers and $51.10 for 2.5 gal containers (per Messicks web site)
