Tractor lots have some equipment...
I spoke to my local Kubota dealer and while they had some in most was already sold and they said this was about what they expected to have in stock for the next 6 months so .. when its' gone... not sure if that was a sales tactic and they even said I know this is sales tactic comment but it was the reality for them.

I'm not an engineer, but I was wondering today if the durability of the seals was in the manufacturing of the seal or had something to do with the machining tolerances of the metal parts. I could see a manufacturer incurring more costs of manufacturing if they machine parts to close tolerances and seals lasting longer in their units than in units where a manufacturer has looser machining tolerances and expect the seal to make up the gap. That might work initially, but over time the seal is going to leak even if the seal itself is the same quality in both cases.
The tolerances for oil seals on shafts is amazingly broad. The seat where the seal is pressed is perhaps tighter. A seal will hold pretty well with a bit of free play in the shaft. Designers of seals know this is going to occur.

The quality of the material used to make the seal has a lot to do with its service life. The polish on the shaft has a lot to do with it too. And oddly the oil or liquid the seal is containing.

We all remember the admonition to select one oil for a new engine and stick with it else risk oil seal leaks? There is truth in that because vinyl absorbs some of the fluid and swells. Change to a different oil and that which is in the seal (or gasket) may come out without being replaced by the new oil, seal is now smaller and leaks. Modern motor oils are formulated to swell seals equally so as to be interchangeable.

I haven't changed the gear oil, and I'm not sure if there is any cause for this leak to have started. There is a differential lock on this brake axle. Maybe that had something to do with it? The other side isn't leaking so far.

Maybe I should drain the gear oil and pack the transmission case with corn head grease?

I think that is probably accurate. I was told something similar when we tried to buy a zero turn about a year and a half ago. Salesperson said that whatever we get in now will be it until 4th quarter. That was in the spring before mowing started.

We had put a deposit down on a new one. After two months we gave up waiting, got the deposit back and bought a used one.

The "used" one only had 30 hours on it. It is way nicer than the one we were ordering but also about 3,000 more dollars.

Actually went to the Kubota dealer today. Lot wasn't full but they had 6 or 8 of small 25 hp tractors a couple of M series and 1 bigger tractor plus a sweet looking skid steer big and fancy looking like a million bucks. I went in for 2.5 gal of trans fluid. Asked for 5 yr financing on the jug... they laughed and charged me $95 out the door.
Parts guy said tractors selling as fast as they get them.

Anyone else notice how tractor dealers lots are now loaded, I drive by 2 JD dealers 2 bobcat dealers and one Kubota dealer all the time and They are full , in fact the kubota and one JD dealer has at least 40 tractors WEonder if they are still selling.
Tough to find any used tractors here, but lots are full of used combines.

I had to find the definition of what is and what causes inflation:

Inflation is the rate of increase in prices over a given period of time. Inflation is typically a broad measure, such as the overall increase in prices or the increase in the cost of living in a country.

What causes inflation?

More jobs and higher wages increase household incomes and lead to a rise in consumer spending, further increasing aggregate demand and the scope for firms to increase the prices of their goods and services. When this happens across a large number of businesses and sectors, this leads to an increase in inflation.

This is what erodes the value of our dollar over time thus making our currency worth less and less every year.

Are you kidding me!? I would not pay that much to _ her.
That chick has no talent in my opinion. Her success is more of a lack of awareness of what good music is then anything else.

Things may work fine during the warranty period, but when parts start breaking after the warranty expires and all the repair costs are on the customer, that is where the cheaper up front cost flip flops and becomes a liability later.
Exactly right!

The 2 major tractors in my area have full lots. They both tell me sales are good
Of course they will except the lot being full doesn't fit the narrative.

As reported in my thread, my dealer's lot is full to the brim with no sign of moving any units since I last paid a visit to him. He has also increased his advertising 10 fold.
