You don't have to mix the whole gallon of concentrate immediately. The concentrate has a very long shelf life.

Of course if you were living in say a miniature tear drop camper pulled by a motorcycle then the storage issue might be paramount. ;) ;)

I know...Convenience comes at a price:D

I have mixed it in the past but our reverse osmosis filter is out of service right now. Buying water I'm never sure of just what I'm getting. The premix takes care of that. [Natural spring water or reverse osmosis or ??]

The volume for the tractor is not great enough to cause real hardship. For the cars and truck they go to a shop as there they have better equipment to handle the drain, flush and fill method. On saying that I have several jugs of antifreeze that I can't remember if they are mixed or not as my labeling is not the best. But I do have the hydrometer to check it.:D

With pets around I'm a little fussy about handling and spilling the antifreeze.:D

In our area we have the choice of mixed, non mixed, diesel rated and gas rated, and also two year or five year longevity. Lots of sources for it.:D

Back in the days I was employable the work place brought in glycol by the barrel for some of the engines. It was the concentrated type and mixed with steam condensate. Then some ignorant fellow pointed out the the quality of the condensate and we were soon using premixed barrels.:)

at least in my area you can get fleet 'pre charged' coolant. look for mention of anti cavitation or electrolysis addatives.. or . etc.

Hey Soundguy,

I have a Kubota M4800 and it says in the Owners Manual to use plain Ethylene Glycol. I just used the green stuff from the parts store. Do I need to go back and change it to the Diesel rated stuff from TSC???

Sorry to Hijack.

BTW: Here is a link to the Fleet Charge type coolant for diesels they have at Tractor Supply. It is precharged with the SCA : Fleet Charge Heavy Duty Antifreeze & Coolant, 1 gal. - 8000177 | Tractor Supply Company

I think you should be safe using what your manual reccomends, though it wouldn't hurt to change to a pre-charged antifreeze. Not all engines are as prone to problems as others. depends alot on wet or dry sleave design as for the cavitation pinhole problems.. etc.

Gotcha! I was planning on using some expensive Kubota "special" antifreeze. I looked at the manual and it stated Ethlyne Glycol, so that's what I used.
