am i missing somthing here. the tractor is worth every bit of 14k but not from an auction. If I could get it from the original owner for less then what was offered to me at the auction, i would buy. but there were alot of other prospects there and because of this I missed out on them... once i find they had me at a different price and I refuse or contest it, my money is no longer legally binded, i could spend it on another tractor, use it, then if when it comes down to it, say well these people are costing me money too. the bottom line is that the bidder helpers failed to do the right thing and honor my 11500 bid and not write in the books 13 after the helper tells me i won for 12. had he said 13 i would had said NO WAY verbally for the first time. I consented to 12 and tried to pay for it.
why wouldnt they fine me and split the money with the owner.
why should my money be tied up any further.
If i have to hire a lawyer most likely there will be a counter suit.
They are better off letting sleeping dogs lay just as I am.
web page showing just a 04 kubota for 11k my point is he should be getting approx 14500 or more for this item and not fighting me for 13k that they didnt want to sell it for 11500 or 12k. That tractor should not have been there anymore then I should have been. He would be in some sort of violation trying to sue me for the difference between prices, because anyone would buy it under 12k including me. Again I honestly bidded 11500 and listened to him rat off about 12000 waiting to hear I lost 11500. they screwed me. The tape proves nothing. Review it all day if you want to.
We will know more after the owner of the auction decides how he will stick it to me. Thats fair. What to do if when he brings it back to 12k.. My first auction and my last. You can have it. I saw so much lost revenue there it was hard to imagine finding a good deal on anything. Take this guy who pays 35k for a Cat BLer. did he get a deal ? I don think so, there are hundreds of them elsewhere like that. So why did he wait to buy at the auction instead of buying one of them a month or 2 ago ?
I am sorry I feel they knew what they were doing and they saw me coming. I bidded what ever and still winded up paying for what would be fair market value regardless of my actual bid. No one else wanted it. I lost by winning and they jacked the price up to were it belongs... nice. Me like an idiot, goes home to get the 12k instead of saying "11500" or even "ok 12k I will be right back". Instead I said nothing to nobody. They should have no right prosecuting me and they dam well better not give my personal info to any such owner.

But still, you got me holding off. I would had to wait until next week anyways.
So is the Hinomoto 35 hp model a prospect ?
The seller is a dealer, and he wants to be sure I get what I want and will be happy, though he admits he will sell it to me anyway if I insist. BUT ! he wants to be sure I can dig with the FEL. or rather max out the load capacity. I found out this one too will not have a stepdown restrictor on the down boom valve. As it is I am ready to drive to it and do it. I like it, and the deal is within my range. I will adon the stepdown restrictor for 30 bucks and put the rest on a gift certificate.
Thanks for playing.

mrtractor,

It sounds like you are a little "touchy" on this subject! I can sure see why, but don't bite MY head off, I'm just tossing out my $0.02 trying to keep you from getting it again! Who knows what the outcome will be? Only time will tell, but do try and be patient. WE aren't the ones putting the wood to you, just trying to lay out the angles that THEY might try and hit you from.

On the Hinimoto. It's a grey market tractor and they made a lot of them in all sizes. I've heard nothing bad about them specifically, just that grey market makes getting parts harder. The loader may not be from Japan. Most of the grey's didn't have loaders. Lot's of Koyker loaders are put on them - good loader.

Your right, I am a bundle of nerves on this, and I'd rather be tractoring righ now then typingto you guys. NO OFFENSE ! But my keyboard has had enough. Its loud and clacky and wakes the kids at this time in the morning.

She told me Wednesday would be judgement day. Well We will see. And yes as You know I already placed my judgement.
You scared me. I want this other deal to happen. I want to put this nitemare behind me. "Grey Market" as explained to me means Auto parts store or Hardware store, just about anything you could do to getrgoing again will do store.
I can handle that aspect of ownership, I just dont want it to snap in half on full loads coming down on the FEL. I plan to use it to clear out loose soil in holes I would be driving down into. Gradeing, trenching, backbladeing, pulling, dragging, lifting you name it I will be trying to do it but reasonbly, and not out to break the tractor. Two things contributed to my previous failure. 1 metal 2 experience.
1 the metal is like a willie wonka bar of chocolate, a chocolate bunny and 2 everyone else knew before I did what was gonna happen. Yet no one handed me the restrictor valve and built me an additional subframe. (I am glad they didnt)
That thing might still be running today.
I am still running, and like you I spend everything I earn. So when I earn enough income to justify bigger better brand new brand name equiptment, you can bet I would. But my job sucks so bad I will do anything to get out of it.So I'm gonna start to dig my way out.

mrtractor,

No offense taken. It's pretty plain you have some pretty frayed nerves about now. I sort of did mean to scare you (about the auction). Otherwise I would apologies for scaring you! There have been a few people that have been boned by unscrupulous auctions. It's better to hear what "could" happen now, so you have time to calmly and coolly give a knowledgeable response. Worst thing in the world would be to spend the money and get blind sided by those people later.

Hope all you get is a slap on the wrist and sent on your way!

I appreciate that. And I might agree with the slapping. This day marks another day almost over that I havent heard any word..
But hey I have another issue. And it does involve making the right purchase. So I hope you and anyone else coming in here to read makes comments..
A friend and I are sort of in debates about somthing.
Since I am new to this forum I would like to make a poll. But I don t see one available to me.

What's better a compact backhoe loader or a tlb ?

Now, from my limited research over the past few years I have come to know a few things. Nothing beats a full size backhoe loader when it comes to brute force and power.
They are also approx all 8 tons or so (see the attachement now). When it comes to a compact backhoe loader, they seem too small for me to fit in without banging my head and knees. They dont seem any more strong then what I see listed for a TLB. And they generally cost more but pound for pound they dont seem like a better deal then a comperable TLB. Granted it is my recent understanding that a TLB isnt designed to do two things at once like using a FEL with the backhoe attached. The way it was explained to me, the backhoe is too heavy a counter weight to be using the FEL at full capacity. I was under the impression that what happened to my old one was the fault of an inferior control valve that "dropped" the load and not that I had a backhoe attatched at that time. I determined a $30 restrictor valve and some additional subframing might have prevented it. Although both could have contributed, I want to know for you folks if your tractor with a backhoe attatched, can handle using the FEL to full capacity and what all modifications did you have to do to make it happen. ie extra subframe support. Pics would be really helpful in this instance.

Also on my mind is the choice between getting a box blade, mower or hole digger.

Mrtractor,

Guess no news is good news as they say...

Your Q on the TLB or compact tractor with loader and hoe is pretty broad. Mostly people try and match the job requirements with the equipment they own or will buy. That's why they make from teeny weeny all they way up into the giant-size. I don't care how powerful the TLB is if it's too big to get to the place you need the hole! I've seen a LOT of new subdivisions with 6' between houses. Naturally, a commercial duty TLB is going to be stronger than an equivalent hp ag duty tractor with a loader and a hoe stuck on. It all depends on what you need done and how fat your wallet is. You can get a decent old TLB like a Ford 555 or 4500 for 5-12K depending on year and condition. Might be too big for you to haul without getting a CDL.

I also don't get what happened with your original tractor. Is it their explanation that normal operation of the loader was so fast that the stopping stress caused the breakage? And that the added counter weight of the BH made it worse. And that a restrictor valve that would have slowed down the loader would have made it all better?? (cough, cough, Bull Sh-t! cough)

Old equipment used to spell out exactly how much counter weight to use. 2500# loader needed AT LEAST 3000#. 3000# loader needed AT LEAST 3500#. My old Ford TLB literature recommends the BH (2500#)and filled tires(1000+#) and 1180# of wheel weights all together. It also brings the loader down as fast or faster than my Kubota L3410. I don't think lack of a $30 restrictor was the issue. Bad design of the loader, valves and lack of proper a load supporting frame -- those sound like more of the issue. Exactly what was the old tractor model? I missed that bit of info.

Keep slugging!
