Okay, I've ordered my tractor. It's going to be a Kioti DK4510HS, with the following options and attachments.

I've also ordered a Everything Attachments Wicked 54" Single Lid Grapple. Everything should be here in 3-5 weeks.

What should I be getting ready before the tractor arrives, and what should I do when the tractor arrives? Here's my current list:

Now:
1. Get insurance
2. Figure out where I'm going to store it.

When I get it:
1. Read the manual
2. Install loop back hoses on the remotes.
3. Practice
4. Move rocks, mow everything, rip out vines, clear fallen trees, and don't get poison ivy

Congrats!

1. Check your homeowners insurance, it will often cover your tractor unless its being used commercially.

Living in the snow belt you may want to consider some snow removal attachment...order early. Backblade, front blade or blower...clearing with the bucket is a PITA. WR Long makes a nice Hydraulic angle front blade... received mine 10 days AFTER our 30 in snowstorm this "spring".

Not to highjack this thread, but Geosankie, I see I am located a few miles south of you. And speaking of new tractors, care to name the dealer from whom you purchased your Yanmar YT-235?

Good luck with the new tool. It sounds like you will have quite the set up once everything arrives.

ransongd, when getting insurance - check with Kioti/your dealer to see if Kioti offers insurance like Kubota and Massey Ferguson do. Be very careful if you are depending on homeowners coverage as your source for insurance.

a. better coverage for your homeowners with the tractor needs a rider - which is added cost.
b. as an example - my Massey insurance is cheaper and covers a dozen or more things my homeowners would not (even with a rider).
c. if you are transporting it or driving it off your direct property - the likelihood of homeowners coverage of it drops a bunch.

The one (which is many) thing that I see that you haven't anticipated is future maintenance. The tools you'll need.

Do you have a torque wrench? The socket sizes (SAE & Metric) to fit the larger nuts? An odd sized 17mm shifter/spanner?

Yes, the list goes on...
