Tractor
JD 4210
I own a JD 4210 tractor and run a 673 JD tiller. I have never had issues with either until this season. Went to till a field and although the tines are turning above ground...as soon as it's dropped in under load...the tiller stops rotating completely although tractor maintains 2500 rpm and 540 at the PTO. Adjusted chain deflection and checked fluids. Tractor has 500 hours and I have also replaced PTO shaft. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. My dealer says it may be clutch issues but i'm hesitant to believe that at only 500 hours.

Hook the tractor to another pto equipment and that will be your answer

That's the issue. I don't have another piece of equipment to hook on to.

Can you hook to a neighbors or someone close by to just test it

Does the tiller have a slip clutch ? Is it slipping?
Does the tiller have a shear pin ? Is it broken ?

First off, is your PTO shaft (from the tractor to the tiller) spinning when things "stop"?
If so, the problem is NOT your tractor, it is something in the tiller.
If the PTO shaft is spinning and there aren't any odd noises when things stop, I would strongly suspect a broken shear pin or (if applicable) a broken drive chain.

Sounds like a pto drive line slip clutch problem to me...
