Tractor size versus bushhog size

All I know is I wish it dry off enough around here to do a little bush hogging. Wife wants to clip some weeds in the old pasture and we've had 17" of rain in the last 3 months. I really feel for the folks in Texas, wish we could have shared some with them. Wife drilled in 40 some acres of Oats between rains and finally got it done and it's all coming up now except for the spots that have drowned out.

Hey we just got 6in. here,things are really looking up around here. Are ponds are filling back up,we had went around 120 days without rain but hung in there,the cows are loving the green and I planted rye on about 30ac.and have received around 8inch of rain so far,thanks to the man upstairs:thumbsup: here a pic what the pastures were looking like around here.

"foreman Etexas" that's great news. Wife has already pulled the cows off the main pastures for the Winter. It's hay and ground feed only now until March. She's got a little over 50 head right now I think.

We was able to make 31bales off are 30acre hay meadow and have had cows,anywhere we could get to any grass but have been feeding hay and cubes since august.We have bought a few bales(33bales of $84 rice hay)and(10bales $150 alfalfa)were gonna limp by and feed mostly $360ton cubes.But really thankful for the rain. The cows were eating the leafs off the goat weeds....

31 bales that's great. My wife ran low on hay this past Spring and bought 30 5x4 round bales of Fescue and Orchard grass for $30 bale delivered and I thought that was high. I heard you guys were really having to pay out the you know what for hay down there. I think my wife and son made something over 400 4x4 bales this year.

hay here has done priced its self out of range.when we run out of hay the cows will be fed a complete feed an range meal out of a sack.we did plant 10 to 15acs of rye grass.was going to notill 50acs of wheat but 3in rain shut that down.
