You keep your tractor in his heated garage and he will give you some labor as well I think it is a fair deal. I imagine if something happens to the tractor (your fault or his) you would have a skilled person to ask for help.
I trade with my neighbor. He lets me cut firewood on his land and I help him out with construction projects on his farm. We put up about 300 bales of his hay in our barn and no hurry for him to take it anywhere... and so on. A few weeks ago when I came home after a long days work on the tail end of a decent size snowstorm. I found that he opened up up the entry to my driveway so I can pull in instead of getting hung up on the snowbank. I never asked he just though of doing that. A couple of years ago he tilled up my garden and dug the 24 post holes for the fence. His tractor quit due to water in fuel last month and he came asking if I could tow it back to the barn. Naturally I dropped what I was doing and went for the tow. I hope to help him out whenever I can simply because a good neighbor is worth it.
