The oil pan is a saddlebag style so the FWD shaft passes through the middle towards the front axle. The pan is sort of gold colored like grade 8 bolts are and seemed pretty sturdy when I had it off in years past.

Just wondering (if in an emergency) I needed to put a floor jack under it if it would crumple the oil pan under the weight of the engine rear? (I suppose worst case, I would need to buy/install a new oil pan).

Thanks again!

Here is a picture. It's my JD 203 split. I like to roll front 1/2, I think I have more control with the stand's swivel wheel and steerable front wheels.
I really like your home made rolling stand. My problem with the cherry picker is the limited lift capacity with the arm extended far enough to reach beyond the CG of the unsupported front end. I have no idea as to how much weight I'd be expected to lift on my 6530....surely expecting it to be more than the capacity of the lift when extended. If I ever have the misfortune of having to split my 6530, I'll build one like yours. I have a solid/HD dolly wheel I can adapt.

I used the largest diameter swivel wheel I could find. I wanted hard rubber/plastic/nylon, or steel, for ease of rolling. I built the stand, thinking if I had one I would NEVER need it, but it has been used at least 5 times on two different tractors.

Zebrafive I'm not knocking your splitting stand. In fact I like it. But if you really think about it you don't need a swivel wheel or wheels. If you are only moving the tractor parts a few feet apart to change a clutch or whatever then the wheels don't need to swivel. True they won't come back together 100% perfect but if you use alignment bolts it's close enough.

I got to thinking I knew I had a picture some wheres of an old Farmall splitting stand while searching for one I found these,
if you want to see some serious splitting stands click on the model numbers on these;
Tractor Splitting Stands

I can't find that one but;
what Farmall showed in some of there shop manuals was screw adjustable stands that attached to the tractor side rails,
the wheels on those where steel wheels with a v groove, then the rear stand had adjustable legs on a base that could be spaced out
the same as the front side rail supports then all the wheels set up on inverted angle irons that had end rails to hold them in place.
Once the whole frame work was attacked squared up and leveled you could split your tractor in most any old shop and bring it back together again with no problems.

Here is what I made. It has been used on my L4240,B7800 and a 70 hp ford. All I had to do was make the plates that bolt to the tractor then bolt that to the slider on the small I beam.

Yes, no need for a swivel wheel. I "over thought it" when I built it. I have not need alignment bolts
