Mahindra 4110. When I try to lift the front end of the tractor up with the loader the engine stalls. This has only started in the last month or so, previoulsy i could pick the front end up without issue. Its almost as if the engine to transmission conenction is binding up and stalling the engine. If i try to restart the tractor with the pressure still on the unit, the enginge has a very hard time cranking. I have to release the pressure in the hydraulics there by taking the strain off the loader. Only then will the engine will crank over fine. What could be binding up?

Ive noticed more flex in what appears to be between the engine and transmission connection. The tractor seems to flex and bounce when driving and hitting bumps in the field. It looks like the front end bounces a lot more than the back half of the tractor.

Has anyone experienced this before? Any thoughts on diagnosising the issue?

Something is wrong. It should be going into bypass before it stalls the tractor.

Check all of your bell housing and transmission bolts, and your loader frame bolts.

You have a problem with fluid flow in the hydraulics. Unplug and plug back in all quick connects for starters. Probably not it, but cost's nothing to try. Tractor relief valve may be set to high or defective in some way also.. Tractor should not stall, as the relief valve should open but your pump is driven off of the cam, and the pump is stalling out because of the flow problem, and it kills the engine by binding up the cam. If the tractor operates normally until you try to operate hydraulic control valve for the loader, then look there for your problem... Try the quick connects first, they can and do cause problems.

If trying to lift the front wheels and if the engine is at low idle and if you're trying to lift the front wheels with the bucket tilt and if you're valve has regenerative dump and if the relief valve setting is too high then it may stall the engine.
But I would still check all the bolts. :)

Yeah, I guess I read right past that and missed it. This flexing can't be a good thing. Check that out immediately.

No hyd pro here but on my JD if I get my connectors mixed get some strange issues. Yes check the bolts as suggested but be sure all quick connects are hooked as they are suppose to be and as to the flexing, by chance are you running in 4 wheel drive and such as rock or concrete where it is hard for the front wheels to spin as they need to? Four wheel drive at least on mine that have it will bind if you use it on hard surface and I can feel the tractor binding.

Thanks for all the replys. I bet its the quick connects. I pulled them off when i serviced things last and that coincides with the time frame this all started. One was very difficult to remove and probably should have been replaced, but i thought i got it back on. I bet that one didnt seat all the way and the root of the problem. Ill follow up when i get it straight.

You need to search for and read my experience with my 4110 engine bolts from back in 2004, I think it was. I explained the whole thing and there's a good chance it has happened to yours. I would recommend not running your tractor until you read my posts from that problem. Good luck !!

The last one I could find was “broken bolt update” from May of ‘05. What are the broken bolts discussed? Mounting bolts? From the post and reference to multiple splits, it almost sounds like the broken bolts were internal. How do I check these bolt, were are they located? Thanks!
