Tractor Supply, Buyer Beware !

My whole point of this thread is to know what your looking at and Buyer Beware means to check out what buying! Make sure some schmuck hasn't slipped his old blown up crap back in the box your purchasing! This store was great when it first opened , but with under paid help with no knowledge of what there selling, junk gets returned ! Don't buy someones old junk!

My closest Tractor Supply is about 45 miles away. I heard they have good service and prices. I called them to check on some pto parts I needed. They said they had a huge supply and stock most popular brands. Gave them the brand name / size and they indicated no problem. Drove over with my broken parts...... nothing even close. Found they had a nice store for bird seed and horse related accessories. Will not go back. Total waste of time. I thought they would have alot of tractor parts and equipment ( like the store name ? ) but didn't see much.

We have had TS in our area for years and even a distribution center 10 miles from my home. A few years ago Rural King came to town and TS has been hurt. RK has what you need, 10 times more choices, and better prices. The people are not the most knowledgeable but they are willing to help.

The problem with Rural King is the stuff, including tractors they stock seem to rust right there on the lot. TSC generally has avoided markets where RK is, I generally prefer TSC's quality.

I don't think we have any Rural King's in Michigan, if we do I've never been to one.

In my above post I wasn't trying to knock TSC, I spend a lot of money there.
Their prices are not fantastic, but most places aren't.

There's a Rural King in Niles, MI, just across the border from Indiana. There is a TSC about a mile north of that Rural King.

They carry some of the same products. It seems Rural King is 10-20% less expensive for the same thing. Our Rural King is HUGE! It is in an old KMart. Our TSC is dinky. Maybe 1/12 the size of the Rural King.

I do not see that at my RK and as far as TSC markets they have put 4 RK's in my area, 30 miles or so, and all are withing 1 mile of a TSC. Drive by the parking lots on a Saturday and the RK in packed while the TSC has maybe 10 cars tops.
