I needed some blasting media. So I physically went in to TSC (an 80 mile drive) - none in stock. So I order it online while in the parking lot, mistakenly figuring it may take days to get there. I get an email on my way home that it's ready for pickup. And they only hold it for 2 days and they count the day you receive the email as day 1. So I call them up - sorry.

Now I could understand if it was livestock or maybe even plants, but sand or bolts?

They probably got it from a nearby auto paint store. That's where I always got mine. About all I ever get from TSC anymore is nuts and bolts. Or if I'm there, they have it in stock and I need it now. Like a 3-point boom, which they didn't. They've shed a lot of there stock. I remember when the store nearest me (35 mile round trip) opened up. It was in the heart of farm country and they had everything in stock. I walked in there many times and they had it on the shelf. They once had the 4 different hydraulic hoses I needed. Today, you're lucky if they have four hydraulic hoses on the shelf--In total. Ordering takes too long and most times charge you shipping. I guess I'm spoiled by Amazon. :2cents:

I bet they had the cammo JD licesned slippers in stock though, although definetely not in your size.

Gotta love TSC!

We just lost it entirely. Now called Peewees or something! WTFIS? That's OK. There was abosolutely nothing real tractor about it anymore anyway.

I certainly hope there was more to the 80 mile trip than Blasting media you could have called about. Maybe a good BBQ joint or strip club there also??

They NEVER keep up their stock, you can never depend on them. When they first moved to our area (over 15 years ago) they were great, but slowly they went downhill. Now I only go in there if I know they have something on sale that I need. And then they're usually out of stock anyway.

If they had a sale and of course never had my size, that was it. No more stock was ever coming. Rainchecks were sometimes given but useless. They never did get the article in. The excuse was ALWAYS that is is all controlled by corporate. I gave up on TSC a long time ago.

Many stores have zero inventory on items and are just a online front for a large distributor. Orders are placed and a truck may be dropping many items off to stores in the area. Even Walmart does this online and offers store delivery for non-stock items they normally don't sell. Home Depot offers many online non-stock items and does a good job utilizing it's distribution and store network.
