Hey everyone. So I have had my TSC post hole digger for probably 5 years or so and sunk quiet a few posts with it. After so many years and posts a few issues have cropped up. Nothing to serious. One is that the input shaft seal leaks on the gear box. Not the end of the world, I just top it off before I use it. Second thing is the ears that support the boom have opened up over time. I finally got around to bending them back into place and then welding some gussets to keep it from happening. This makes the thing so much more stable left to right. I even welded a washer in to help tighten them up a bit more. If you buy one of these I would suggest welding on these gussets on right away.
My father-in-law got the same auger and he leaves his on the the tractor most of the time and the ball thing at the end of the boom that attaches to the top most 3-point hitch started to wear out from the thing getting jostle around on the back of the tractor all the time. He is having to weld in a replacement ball. For that I would suggest taking the auger off if not in use.
