Tractor Supply Store, Bennington, VT

Based on the following news account, it appears Tractor Supply Store will soon be opening up a new retail outlet in Bennington, Vermont. This is good news for me and RichZ /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.....no longer have to travel to Amsterdam, NY.

They just opened a new one a month ago in my home town. There are 3 others, each about 30 miles away in 3 different directions. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Plus there is another chain store in town called Gebo's Blackland that carries just about an identical line to TSC. It don't get any better. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Amsterdam Store 19 miles away or Cobleskill Store 13 miles. I cant figure why they have 2 stores so close to me.

Our local paper had an article about TSC just last week. It discussed their expansion plans since there are no real opportunities for them to grow by acquisition any more. You'll be happy to know they're heading east before they head west.

A couple things in there I didn't know. Apparently it's company policy that every store employ at least one farmer, at least one horse person and at least one welder. Pretty good idea, I thought.

I also liked one line the CEO had. "Everything we have is available somewhere else but nowhere else has everything we have."

He also had a comment on the name. He said they're no longer a tractor supply place and have so much more that the name is really misleading. He said there's been talk of changing the name. Of course, he said he's been wrestling with that problem for the 24 years he's had the job already. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There is one going to open in Amenia, NY I saw the sign last week it is on Rt 22 in the Foodtown Plaza... if anyone is intrested /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
