Hi all I am new to the site but I have read several of these threads and found most of them to be very helpful so I'm reaching out for more knowledge I have a 2007 NH tc55da with a EHHS controller and an OHIO controller I used my tractor which I haven't owned long the other day grading my driveway after a storm brought it back on the hill and parked it in the shed went out last night and was going to use it again but when I turned the key I had nothing. No lights in the dash no beeping from the safety alarm nothing so checked battery voltage it is good found the fusible link was fried so I had a 30A inline automotive fuse and fuse holder so I put it in place now I have lights and beeping from the safety alarm however when I turn the key to crank the tractor all lights go out and all power is gone wait 5mins turn the key back on and power returns to lights and safety alarms any suggestions on what I should look at next and yes safety seat switch and PTO switch are working and in place. Sorry for the long post just wanted to put all the info I could thanks.

Put your meter on the battery terminals, crank it and see what the battery voltage does.

Then meter from bare metal on the engine to the stud on the starter that the battery cable goes to, crank it and see how much the voltage drops.

One or both battery cables may be bad.

After a little more troubleshooting I have came down to a direct short I figured out the intermittent power issue but now when I turn the key to on I have all lights as I normally would but as soon as I go to crank it blows the 30A fuse so now I guess I am just down to tracing out wires

What is the amp rating on the fusible link?

A 30 amp fuse may not be big enough.

WVboy, whats your location?

If youre using a 30a fuse, and it blows imeadiatly, violently, its safe to say youve got a dead short. If its a few seconds before it blows, it may just be too small and you just need a larger fuse. However, if its only powering the solenoid, it should hold, at least enough to start the tractor. A cab model with heater blower running full, not so much... but all accessorys turned off, only starting/running, I would think 30a should hold.

It is definitely a dead short instantly the fuse blows upon turning the key to crank

Found my short it is one of the glow plugs I took the bus work off from the top of them and the tractor fired right up thank you all for your advice but now my question is what should I be reading from my glow plugs all 4 of them are reading around 1ohm from the tip to the block

If the glow plugs are part of the load on the 30a fuse, thats the issue. They will likely draw more than 30a, your fuse is too small for the load. If all glow plugs show the same ohms of resistance individually, one isnt noticeable different, they are likely ok. One ohm could be reasonable in my opinion.
