Tractor/ vehicle what's a good fire extinguisher?

Spring summer and fall a 2-1/2 gallon class A pressurized water extinguisher with a cup of liquid dishwashing determinant will make an 20lb dry chem ABC or 10lb CO2 look like a toys on a class AB and even most C fires.
Water based liquid has the knock down and cool down that a poot of powder or CO2 can not accomplish. Re-ignition after knockdown with a CO2 and ABC dry chem is all to common. Nothing like watching your machine burn while holding an empty extinguisher after you thought the fire was out.
Winter time, stuck with the ABC or using antifreeze in the pressurized water unit.

I was going to install an extinguisher, but now I'm going to install a cooler. If I survive the day without a fire, I'll have cold beer. Either way, I'll have to restock tomorrow so I know it's fresh and won't have to worry about the chemicals settling.

Are you trying to subject your vehicle to addictions?

Where I work, we use a 20lb ABC dry chemical extinguisher mounted on all our equipment. This is includes pickup trucks and heavy equipment. The really big stuff has built in systems. The use is almost exclusively in dirt roads on industrial plants and in open pit mines.

All of pur extinguishers get a monthly inspection that includes, checking the guage for pressure, checking to make sure the trigger pin and its keeper are stil in place. We also check the overall condition for damage, rust etc, hose damage. And amking sure the chemical hasn't settled.

These are rechargable and where I live they need a hydrotest every 6yrs and a visual by a certified inspector once a year. Our visuals cost about $11/extinguisher, this includes a certification sticker and document. Just in case the worst happens, your covered with insurance.

I have seen one of these put out a cab fire on a fuel truck without issue.

That makes sense but you did mean "detergent" right? I'll have a hard time finding a space for one one of those.

My 2.5 gallon pressurised water extinguishers are great, but are too big for tractor use. My dad bought the water ones for super soaker battles in the high school parking lot. The battles ended soon after that.

In the winter you gotta make sure no damage is done by the sprayed ice!
