1983 1710 ford compact 4x4 diesel
Hi guys, a few weeks ago I cracked the clutch casing on my 1983 Ford 1710 compact tractor. A welder came over and welded the clutch casing, re-installed the front loader and re-connected the hydraulic lines, tried the tractor and everything working fine, decided the hook up the rear snowbblower no hydraulic on blower all manual, once the blower was raised using the 3pt hitch the tractor began to vibrate quite a lot, lowered the snowbblower vibration stops, seems like if you use the 3pt hitch that's when the vibration starts, snowblower not engaged, hydraulic fluid top up. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Sounds like you've got some air in your hydraulic lines. If everything is sealed up then cycling the hitch, steering, loader, etc a few times should fix it. If that doesn't work then you might be sucking air in somewhere, causing cavitation in your pump and lines and making the tractor shake. Any sounds accompanying the vibration?

Check for any tiny hydraulic leaks where the welds are, anywhere the lines are connected, and around your filter housing. While the tractor is running, it'll suck air through the leaks, when it is shut off you may detect a small seep. Maybe even just a few drops.

I don't know exactly how your tractors hydraulics work, but are you certain there is no jerkiness to the loader or you power steering either?

gluck.

Sounds to me like the vibration is caused by the universal joints in the PTO shaft. They might be bad or the angle they are running at is excessive.
