Tractor won't move

I don't know anything about your tractor but when you say "powershift" my mind immediately thinks "temperamental 12V switch". Is that a possibility?
There aren't any 12 volt solenoids. There is a solid mechanical link between the shift lever and the sliding valves in the valve body.

In principle, it is the same design as how a loader's control levers are attached to the valves inside the loader control body.

There is nothing to go wrong in the external parts of the shifter, aside from levers or linkage pins getting worn/bent.

As for ATF......any Dextron 3/mercon should work. That's what I have in my 186D. Works very well.

Thanks MJ and California for enlightening me.

That does sound less "tempremental" and more "bulletproof".

tnbowhunter, I think your screen is down low on the transmission, it is on the left side.
Thanks winston. I'm pretty sure I found it yesterday afternoon. It looks to be a round cover that has two bolts on it. I was looking too forward on the tractor. The cover I think is the right one is almost on the very rear end of the tractor, left side and next to the drain plug. I didn't take the cover off yet as I didn't have time and have not purchased the new filter or enough fluid to put back in. Hopefully I will get around to fixing it this weekend.

Thanks again everyone for your help. At least we "all" learned that you can use ATF or JD 303 in the transmissions of these great little tractors.:)

I will update on the status of my tractor when I change the fluid, filter and clean that elusive screen, lol.
