Like the others suggested, I'd check out the #5 10 amp fuse. It'll blow for no particular reason and the symtoms are just as you describe.

Thanks for the advice guys. The tractor is in neutral, and I have never had to depress the clutch to get it started but I'll try it and see if that works. I'm guessing based on the advice it's probably the fuse, and I will check it. I checked I think it was the #1 fuse and it was fine.

I am wondering if it might not be recognizing that the gear lever in neutral. I have a hydro, and the neutral between the low and mid gear does not work. There is a short or something in it that was there when I bought the tractor. The only neutral that is recognized is the one between low and high. So I am wondering if it no longer recognizes that one either. I will check the fuses and see if that is it, and retry depressing the clutch pedal.

Hmm.. I think I would get that neutral interlock fixed asap.. that's not something you want going out. What if both go out.

Perhaps it is just out of adjustment?
