Tractorless

   / Tractorless #11
After living in the city all my life of 45 years I compromised and bought some land out in the county.Buit me a house smack dab int he middle of 11 acres. (I know it is not much land to you farmers. I do envy you guys.) I have a 45 minute daily commute each way to work but, it is worth the drive. Of course it puts me nearly an hour away from my other toy (my sailboat). I have to split my time between tractoring and sailing. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've been mourning the loss of my sailboat for 8 years now. That's why I bought a tractor /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know the feeling. A few years ago my engine went out. I went for almost 6 months without it. Every time I think I might sell it I remind myself of what is was like

/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif First thing I`d also make sure is slip clutch is set right. Did you loosen off & clet slip this spring ? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Ic forgot to loosen mine off last fall before storage as in manual and took alot of loosening to get it to slip this spring.

Looks like it's time to get back into my owner's manual. One service guy told me last fall that there was no slip clutch on the little DX24E. That's why we thought the clutches were toasted, because the tiller stopped dead in the dirt with the lever engaged, and if there was no slip clutch, then the internals were blown. This last trip back, I was told it was out of adjustment, but I never got the low down on exactly what had to be adjusted.

They did screw up the adjustment on my brake pedal when they put everything back together, so I had to fix that before using it - funny how no one noticed the pedal going to the floor board when trying to engage it.
