Cut and split about two and a half cords of ash, had the two cords on the trailer and the half cord in the truck. It weighed a little more than I expected.

All of these rain storms here have caused my creek to over flow the banks. I never had a problem with the creek. it washed a bunch of my wood away. the bright side to it . It didn't wash away any split and stacked wood. Ill be moving my wood pile a little higher up the hill.

Does that new stuff need to dry out for an extra period?

Cutting and hauling firewood. Not sure if it is easier to cut it up in the woods then put it in the trailer or use the boom to lift the logs on then take them off for processing at a landing. .

Pictures and info on your trailer?

I usually drop them, limb them where they fell, and skid them out to the trailside with my logging winch. I'll skid out groups of trees to the same spot, then buck them to length right there. From there, I'll usually split on the spot and throw into a trailer as I split. Sometimes I'll haul some of the rounds home so I have something to split when I have a little time here & there.

I generally leave anything under 3" in the woods to rot and return nutrients to the soil anyway, so limbing where they fall saves me from having to clean up the branches out of the trail area. If I had a forwarding trailer, I might consider bringing them all to a central location for bucking and splitting. I prefer not to drag the logs down my trails (tears them up, and loads the bark with dirt, which dulls chainsaws quickly).

My log trailer has a 4X8 bed with walking beam axles. It has a crane with an electric 4000 pound winch which can be used to lift heavy logs onto the trailer or raise the dump bed. Once upon a time it had an hydraulic dump but that is gone now so I use use the winch to raise the dump bed. I had 33 inch tires on it but now I just have 15 inch. It is licenced for the road so I can go into the woods, fill it up, haul it out with the tractor then disconnect it from by tractor, hook it to my truck then make the delivery. Less handling that way.

I snagged some pallets from one of the places near work. They frequently put them out to get rid of them, but I normally drive a Civic (45-ish miles each way). They've been there for a couple days, so I took a chance and drove the truck.

Will put a couple upright and top slats on them to stack them full. They're a bit small, but should still be useful.
