HE did say 10 minutes of TRACTOR time, not 10 minutes total time. Plus, it was only one trip, since he loaded the full half cord in his trailer. I can easily believe 10 minutes of tractor time, if it's not a long drive from the tree back home.

IT sounds like the same way I do it, though I wouldn't make it in 10 minutes of Tractor Time if I had to winch the trees out of the forest to the side of the trail - I'm not all that fast at winching, since I'm often setting a self releasing snatch block or two to winch around corners.

I agree he said "it takes 10 min tractor TIME TO GET OUT a half cord". No need to call bs on our friend up north.

thanks for clarifying this for me John. It was about an 1800 foot haul on good road and I only winched 2 trees about 100 feet to get the tree closer to the trailer. And yes you read it right, I did it in one load because I used the trailer. If I had to snig the logs I would of had to make 2 trips thus would of taken twice as the tractor time. Sorry if I misled anyone but man some people are quick to jump on a fellow.

Like I said I would get a slower tractor and enjoy it more. I never spend just ten minutes on the tractor.

Okay friends... my 'kinda want to call BS' comment was in jest. For you serious folk, in this PC world, I apologize. Jeez... obviously the man is out working hard harvesting wood to heat the homestead.

Com'n Creamer... give him a break. We gotta talk literally here and no jokes. Remove the cup holder and other extraneous items and get a higher acceleration and top end.

Loaded and unloaded without the tractor...

Found it a lot easier this last year to just load logs, and cut rounds and split back up on the property.

Most of the time when I use my trailer I load 8 foot logs with my crane then take it to our field to process because we have a strong east wind of the harbour so it is cooler to work and less flies. IMG_7605.jpg

... not to mention the view. That would motivate me to spend a lot of time in that spot.

Thanks ...Yes it is a beautiful. About 10 times a day people stop to take pictures. We own to the beach and I spend some time there as well. Our house overlooks the field. Everyday I wake up to that view and everyday I am thankful for it.
