The 661 is a great saw so far, my dealer and I had a lengthy discussion on the mtronic carb and he told me he had one problem saw and reprograming resolved the issue. As we were talking a pro feller stopped by and had bought the 661. His glowing reviews are what sold me as I originally went to buy the 461 but the $150 price dif and hp increase made the 661 an easy choice.

Most of the 661's that people had problems with had been ported. They had a bog off idle. I think they had been ported too much for the mtronic to make it run right.

Dad and I cut up all of our logs yesterday and stacked them. Also included a picture of my neighbor's beef cattle.

Yes it is! On Friday it was 75* and I was mowing with shorts on. Today the ground was white with snow, 25*, and with 40 mph winds.

That's almost exactly how it was here in NH, woke up to about a half inch of snow with howling winds.

Also they were running 32:1 instead of 50:1 fuel mix, so that may have been some of it.

I have a hard time believing any Stihl user was running 32:1. Stihls have not used that ratio in any motor for 3 decades at least.
