Finished the last two of three firewood carriers today, between hail and rain showers. (Don't mention that PxLLxT word in their presence)

Made from scrap 2x4 and 2x6 boards, and old fence wire, except two new treated 2x4's for the ground contact. 48 wide, 32 deep, and 25 inside height. Holds about the same as four loads of wood in the bucket.

I found that when level full of freshly split unseasoned fir, that is all the BX wants to lift with clamp-on bucket forks. It will normally be moved when full with carryall "forks." I used two center underfloor pieces for a loose fit on the carryall forks so it won't slide sideways off balance.

These aren't furniture grade like some here make, just cheap, ugly, and functional.

Theses are great looking Bruce. Hope your scrap is pressure treated (looks that way). These are too nice to have only a few years.

Well, it has been a tough winter for us in the Santa Cruz Mtns.

This is the county road right near my private road entrance. It is the 4th large tree
down in the rains we have had JAN-FEB. By 'large', I mean over 100' tall.

The County's Case articulated loader can be seen trying to move one of the
stumps.

7 weeks no tel or internet. 84.5" rain total for the season so far.

I've been wondering how you have been making out... it's been a wet one for sure.

Stay safe!

Wow! 84.5" ! What is normal? That is a lot of water.

The lower parts are mostly treated. The uppers are all untreated, but they are screwed together for easy replacement when needed. As I get more leftovers, or catch Home Depot's cull pile (70% off) at the right time, I'll replace them.

Due to how wet things are here I had to deploy the Polaris to fetch some firewood (cut some snags- emergency wood gathering):

Note sure how much weight this is, but it's clearly at, if not more than, the max rating of 1k lbs! Running over pretty level and smooth ground; ran real easy bringing it in. It then got handed off to the big tractor to load on to my deck.

60" is normal for the season in the coastal rainforest here. The season is measured from 7-1 to
6-30. My record is 85" for the season back in 97-98. Generally, no rain at all JUN-SEP.

April and May should blow us past 90 or so, maybe 100.

That is one area of the country that I have never been through and my wife and I are planning a trip late this summer just to see it. I am looking so forward to it.
