We know some people from church who lamented that they would "never be able to build their house", so Katie and I talked it over, and decided God has blessed us with enough wood and that we could give them some so they could have some lumber to build with. He came over the other day and set up his Norwood sawmill, so I have been parking my tractor beside the mill and the log pile and loading the logs onto the mill for him.

Very impressive! Been my experience that there aren't many Christians today that act anything like Christ would. Well done.

Thanks, but Katie and I are honestly just sinners saved by grace...

I am just glad the guy is getting as much as he can out of these logs. I mostly log commercially and see so much waste that it is nice to see a lot of lumber from very few logs. If they were going to a commercial mill I might get 3500 board feet out of this pile, but I bet he will have 5000 board feet or better. Saw kerf will have a lot to do with it, but if he can cut a 4 foot long board 4 inches wide, he'll take it out.

He is getting spoiled though, Eastern Hemlock saws like a dream compared to Spruce or other woods.

We should all be hanging out with Broken Track.

Well everyone has their chance!!! :)

Come on out to Rock the Flock on August 10th and 11th. (Katie is from Littleton, NH by the way)

We use our farm to host an annual free concert featuring Bluegrass Music on Friday Night (Lamb Jam), and then on Saturday host various Rock bands (Rock the Flock)

It is all free, but any donations go to Teen Challenge of Maine because the Opiate Crisis is huge here. We just could not stand it anymore. We do not have much, but we have a farm with a view of Mount Washington (150 miles away) so we figured we could put on a benefit concert. I have never got into that stuff, but I have had friends and family that did, and they have a headstone because of it. So Katie and I knew we had to do something, so we talked things over with our friend from the band Exit 244 and decided we would host a concert. We NEVER thought it would get this big though.

Maine Antique Auto Club Cruise In on Saturday
Christian Bikers Association Ride In both days (ME, NH and VT)

We expect about 1000-3000 people this year.

I would venture that TBN members as a group or generous with their time when it comes to lending a hand... even in my small circle I have helped many neighbors with Kubota.

Every year we use the farm to host National Night Out... there is a band, fund raiser for the food bank and free beer... I'm usually at the Keg... it was 102 last year and the ice cold beer and local California wine was a big hit... Mom served the wine.

It gets bigger every year and we include the Park Department Mounted Patrol, Fire Department, Highway Patrol, EMS, Town Police, Sheriff, Park Ranger, etc... the LEOs said that beer sure looks good but not in uniform! Since we give it away from our home... no permit needed to serve... but the county said we need to provide security until the Sheriff made a call... come on but such is the bureaucracy...

All the pictures I have of the tractor and wood are Christmas Trees ;-(

Here is the pile I gathered up yesterday. I believe the tree got hit by lightning, it had a spiral path of missing bark from top to ground. It was only about 50 yards from the house, so I feel very fortunate. It wasn't the tallest tree in the area either, the Tulip Poplar is much taller & only 40' away. I'm glad I decided to take it down now as the ants had their way with the bottom core so it was only a matter of time before they'd do it for me. But the old Swinger picked up the pieces, & drove them up out of the woods. Although not always on all fours! I'll let it sit here to dry, then split in the fall ready for 2019. Took down a maple too, that the ants got into also, nowhere as big though.View attachment IMG_20180428_164513156.jpg

Nice. A while back you mentioned getting your son's blades tuned up; there is a place in Howland that may still do them. There also used to be a guy in Milo named Jones, the only reason I knew that is because my father sold him a bulldozer years ago. I believe that his shop was in Lumbra's yard, but that was over 10 years ago.
