The bridge looks really good. If you haven't already, you might consider something to anchor it from walking end ways off the abutments. Bridges have a tendency to do that.

He just has to post a pic occasionally to show us what his trucks can do, and remind us poor folk that there's a better way to handle materials. ;)

I am in the same poor camp as everyone else, that's why I bought a 1987 dump truck that needed a ton of work. The trailer was new yes, and just to even things out, it broke this morning, going over a pothole less than 2 weeks old, on just the second time I used it.

So I don't have a bridge like that but I felled a tree about 24" dia across my creek so I could at least walk across without wading, I own about 3-4 acres on the other side with no way other than that to cross. After it laid there for about 6 months and settled in I put planking on top to walk on, one big storm the water turned it upside down and put all the planking on the bottom, and a couple months ago the water got so high as to float it over the 2' tall stump it was laying next to to keep it in place! Water does some wild things sometimes!

Oldpath... whats the reasoning behind all the sawdust/chips at both ends?

Planer chips?

Yup, water will do that but that isn't what I was referring too. If he is dragging a log across the bridge, the log could catch on the end of the bridge which may tend to move one end of the bridge off the abutment. Also, just driving up on the bridge will tend to make it walk to the other end. I would hate to see him crossing the bridge and have one end drop off the abutment. Or even worse, the end of one side of the bridge could drop off the abutment which could flip over his tractor. That would make an interesting video and story if he survives to tell us about it.

Yikes - bad luck. What happened to the load of stone or were you running empty ?

Running empty, hit pothole and some tack welds broke, it was a manufacturing issue, and they've been notified of the issue. Just waiting to see if they make good on it.

My Ranger is ticking down it's last few miles, and I'm considering an F-250 that I can put a dump body on. It will only haul about 3000 lbs but that's a yard of gravel or 1/2 cord of firewood... all that I really need for my purposes.
Two years ago I started reclaiming gravel from a road on the other end of my property to build a pad for my tractor shed... 3/10 of a mile each way, one bucketful at a time. I usually got a couple of trips per night at about 1/3 yard per bucket. It started snowing before I got done, so last year I bought a load of gravel. I don't remember what I paid but it was cheaper than wear and tear, plus the diesel I was burning.
