I bought a load of 1-1/2" crushed stone, I think it was a 16 yard tri-axle and cost about $450. Worked out to $28 a yard delivered.

One more thing,, ALWAYS one more thing,,

Are you gonna chain the pieces to a stump,, so they do not go far when the high water arrives??

High water always shows up at the strangest times,,,:confused2:

The most I ever seen the run-off water is around a foot deep, I'm way over 3' but a foot of water and ice is a always a struggle for a small tractor so the bridge should help a lot.

OUTSTANDING!! Great job! Where did you get the sign? I want one and my driveway needs one!

 It's a online sign my son sent me, maybe theres a way to have it printed, it is kinda funny......

That is a fine looking bridge, nice work! Especially for a Maineiac! ;)

Thanks, it's nice seeing a project come to a end, it seemed like all the prep work was more work then making the bridge it self.

The bridge looks really good. If you haven't already, you might consider something to anchor it from walking end ways off the abutments. Bridges have a tendency to do that.

I would really be surprise to see 1600 lbs each to go very far but I'll know for sure next March, thats the true test.

Oldpath... whats the reasoning behind all the sawdust/chips at both ends?

Planer chips?

Cedar mulch. I wanted sand to lay the oak planks on for the 5' panels rest on, theres so many rocks sticking up it's hard to level it out, might say it's red neck Maineiacs way of getting a level-ish base, also working with cedar sawdust cures the petula oblongata..............

Great job on the bridge. You must plan on living a LONG time...LOL

 Just wanted a bridge without nails or screw.... I even thought of weaving 2"x 8" x 10' together with rope and just lay them on top of 6 beams across the brook.

That's coming along good, and those are some rugged saw horses that you've built. The only thing missing is a more complete view of that Jeep in the background. I know, some of us are never satisfied.
Younger son has 6k in this and not done yet, maybe three more weeks.
