No I would never have cottonwood on my place it’s a patch I’m cutting for someone else. Rows were all mechanically planted.

I just want to see one like that!

Here's a thought... they used to grow that way here back when King George owned the land. Every white pine tree over 24" belonged to the king for ship masts and was marked with an arrow using an axe. It was illegal to cut them, so on on pre-Revolutionary houses you never see a board wider than 23".
They didn't have the equipment we do so floated them down the river.

How did they get a tree that big and 150 feet long from stump to the river?

Ok, not really "tractors and wood" but I'm putting in a new kitchen at my place. Cabinets are hickory that we had made for us, but the counters are oak I took off our place and milled up.

Those countertops are nice! I have some rock maple drying which sawed for me, and hope to have some cabinets made from it someday. I won't be doing it myself though, I'm not that adept.
