Now, why wouldn't you have "went slow and checked clearance" before just driving out over the bridge. No brains? He knew he had a wide implement on the tractor. Or he just "forgot" I guess. Seems kind of silly to me.

By the looks of that bridge, I think he improved its condition. It was probably 3 times past its original service life expectancy.
