"Tractors" of a less common variety, in Alberta

I'm looking forward to the facts, suggestions and ideas from you as a whole, and hope that I may be able to assist others in their quest for knowledge. I live on a farm with a variety of stock but most of my "tractor" concerns relate to forestry machines such as mulchers, a variety of harvesters, transporters and processors. I'm not familiar with this forum yet so I don't know how common this machinery is talked about on here. Hopefully the fundamentals should stand relatively true despite the purpose of the tractor.

I use to work some forestry equipment here. But it was in the mid 1990s. Mostly John deere excavators converted to a harvestor with a fab tech head. Then later an 845 tigercat harvestor. Used some of their forwarders/porters too. Rotney and timberjack models. My uncle use to own a logging contract too, although I didn't use his equipment, just cut with chainsaw. initially growing up he had half a dozen 230 timberjacks, TD20 dozer and various logging trucks , cat excavators. Later he got a high track D6. Varous other modern skidders and eventually the Rotney porters/forewarders and harvesters. I'm not sure what happened but they eventually didn't have a contractor anymore, after working in the woods for more then 40 years, maybe 50 years.
