third choice, is to keep --which i'm not opposed to. MY UPDATE. i broke my right foot and ankle two sundays ago. am in midst of getting it properly diagnosed and recovery road charted.
my bx1850 is a garage queen at this point (i've got about, 1/2hour run time, get aquainted time on her plus the 7.7 hours from the dealer.
depending on my money hit, id consider a bx2360 in the fall. my set up is: bx1850 w/fel, grille guard, hd60" front blade, 54" fine cut deck, weight box. turf and ag tires. i would eventually want an identical set on a new tractor.
am considering the move up to better handle a rear pto chipper, like a bearcat 70554 and a landpride rtr1542 tiller.
my wife won't let me near the garage at this point (truthfully, am booted and could not operate the tractor). since, i'm sitting out the summer, i thought, i'd try and maybe get the ball rolling and give the bx a change of scenery at least get my brain going all the hours i have when i'm horizontal non weieght bearing,
along with asking this forum, i thought, i'd also ask for a lead (salesman) to contact at messicks, e*town , not where i purchased- but it has a great reputation.
any and all responses appreciated. the NO LUCK - BROKEN FOOTED

Typicaly consigment is your best bet. Dealers (like us) hesitate to put too much into like new trades because only a select few customers will opt to buy a used machine at a high price when a new one can be bought with 0% financing and a warrenty. You usually get fleeced selling a tractor to a dealer/jocky for a cash payment. A local sale is not a bad idea, many customers have in their mind that they will only buy used, and never from a dealer, and will end up paying a new (or over new) price at an auction or from someones yard. It happens a lot.

neil(?) messicks,-
your coments are right on the money . . . . and i started to look at my total bx investment.
since i ultimately believe, i purchased the right tractor . . . i'll just proceed a bid slower when tilling and think twice about a buying pto chipper.
i'll contact your dealership on recommended tillers ( she stays with shrekbelly). and what might be a fair asking price should i go thru craigslist.
thanks for your time and attention. my bx1850 appears to me, to be "the little tractor, that could!" i'm very happy i purchased her. robert a.

Sounds like your tractor will do most of the things you want. As for the chipper, there is a way to get the job done with this machine, but it will take more time. You could get a small dia. chipper and a 3ph log splitter. First, split your material down to a smaller diameter, swap implements (splitter off/chipper on), and run the split pieces through the chipper. Now this is not as efficient as having a bigger engine and chipper to start with, however, it would allow you to start with almost any diameter logs and still wind up with chips. Again, not the most efficient way to do it, but it is a possible solution to your situation. Good luck.
