Trade offs on B3030 vs L3400...

I'd buy the L3400 as well. That's what I should have bought myself but I thought I would need a front snow blower (mid-PTO) and I didn't think the weight would make that much of a difference.

The L3400 weighs 941+ lbs more then the B7800/3030's and is 7" longer but the wheelbase and width is actually a bit less then the B7800/3030's. The B series is easier to trailer but I havn't need to do that either.

With a toothbar and good bush hog the L3400 will be a great trail clearing machine.

looked at l3400hst w fel r4s and l3940hst w fel r4's rental return and the price difference is 3291. What do you think? Wondering if the 3940 is too big for my 3.5 acre orchard on my 5 acres.

Thanks, Mark

No can do the 72". I want/need to be able to get up and down tight woods trails and the 72" would really hamper those plans. I know it's only another 12" wider, but it's also 12" longer. I may need to remove my loader as it stands now to manauver so adding much more weight to the rear may mean the front requires some more ballast. Guess I'll have to wait and see on that. Again, all this is speculation as I have never owner or used such equipment. I really thank you guys for your "experianced" advise. Someone mentioned wheel spacers on another thread, any idea how much wider that would put the rears?

Well first of all congrats on your pending new tractor. I think you made the correct choice with that much land.

I would like to share my thoughts on the rotory cutter choices. I see so many people buying brush hogs ment for serious long term use when in fact most never come close to seing the kind of duty they were ment to handle. I would suggest looking at a standard to light duty model and use the saved cash for another implement. I have a Woods heiritage 6' model that will wade through 2-3" brush like its not even there. I hit rocks, logs, wire, metal fence posts and it never even blinked.

One other thing if its not to late...order the telescoping arms if they are not standard on the model your getting. I grew up on IH super M's and WD45's etc. and connecting implements to those things was a challange to say the least. Now I just get it kind of close and hook up.
