Good boots you chose to put on them. If you are to do serious snow plowing, your side steps will be in the way and will eventually suffer, and you could also get jacked up on a snow bank. Just something to be carefull if I may!
Hope you enjoy that great rig as much as you do with your tractor.:tractor::thumbsup:

Bet you miss the ride (quality of travel, not some stupid slang for vehicle) already.

So, long story short I ordered my truck with the Aisin transmission, Laramie package, snow plow prep, remote car starter, gooseneck prep package, clearance lights, spray in bedliner, wheel to wheel side steps and CHMSL camera for hooking up my gooseneck. I ordered the truck in Maximum Steel Metallic two tone and love the color. It took a little over 6 weeks to arrive. So without further ado, here she is...

Very nice looking truck!

Interesting Dodge offers the GN prep package as an option on a short bed.

Thanks for all the kind words. My Chevy was a great truck and I'll miss her but I would have been foolish to not let her go with the deal I got. $1250 to own a truck for 2 years is awesome. The Chevy definitely rode nicer, particularly over stutter bumps. On the highway, the difference in ride quality is negligible if there is any at all. The bumps, while more noticeable in the Ram aren't that bad and frankly I try to drive shorter trips as much as possible in my wife's CRV or in our M3. If I could have got the Aisin transmission in a 2500 I probably would have got a 2500 with the complete air bag system in the rear, but I really do prefer to drive the Aisin over the 68RFE.

As for this truck, the sticker was about $65,500, but I paid more like $54,000. I love it so far and get all smiley when I hear the exhaust brake kick in going down a hill. It really has a better sound than my Chevy did. The interior is definitely bigger than my Chevy or the new Chevy and I really like that. Ram really hit a home run with this truck.

As for sticking a plow on the truck, it's not likely that I will, but wanted the prep package just in case. If I do any plowing it will be streets and paved driveways, nothing too serious and not more than 6" or so at a time. If I need anything more hard core I've got my tractor, loader and snow blower. I don't see the steps being an issue for my potential uses. Plus this truck sits tall enough that they really were a necessity for the lady folk in my life.

All in all if this truck treats me as well as my last couple, then I've got nothing to worry about.

Other than looking really cool, I've often wondered if the clearance light have and real function?

That is a great looking truck. You got a great deal too. Sharp looking workhorse. I would have jumped on that deal too.

My truck has the snow plow prep package also, its a 2004, and its sits higher in front, almost like it has a leveling kit.

It's a DOT thing. Any vehicle wider than 79" is supposed to have them. Since the truck is a SRW it's under the limit, but the cab is the same as would be on a DRW (which would be over the 79") so it's no issue for Ram to offer them on the SRW.
