Trading in a Tractor

Any Idea what you think it is worth? I live up near Concord and may be interested in switching up from a L2900.

If you are proposing something, I wouldn't be interested in getting out of my tractor until I replaced the digging capability - I was just asking about trades for future reference. However, (just for informational purposes) I found the exact same setup as mine (same tractor, FEL, and Woods 9' backhoe) last year at a used tractor place - he was asking $16.9K. That machine had similar hours, but was in WAY worse condition than mine, at least cosmetically (I thought he was nuts). I also looked at a few used tractors of similar size, condition, and hours at dealers (w/o backhoes) - they were mostly in the $11-12k range, give or take, and you'd be hard pressed to find my backhoe for less than $5k. From what I've seen locally, fair value for a setup similar to mine is likely in the ~$15-17k range.

I've sold a few different brands on and off in my life,along with just used tractors. Typically if the dealer is giving you a fair price on the new one off of msrp,He'll put your trade minus what repairs it needs to be sold at around 15-20% less than a fair retail. If he gives more than that He is usually not giving you a break off of list price. Now used vs used is completely different animal. Regional/seasonal popularity comes into play here...........it's all what you can move it quickly at. Seeing as how most used only tractor jockey types don't have the overhead,they'll often be happy making $500-750 on an as is where is tractor. They don't have to worry about it once it leaves their lot........
