Planning trading my 2007 M7040 for a new M7060 HD12 with cab.
Still unsure on tires. Use the tractor for loader work on hard surface, mowing 15 acres of horse pasture.
Also grade riding arena, haul fire wood, push snow on 400 ft paved driveway.
Have R1's on the old machine and want to get a more turf tire.
If you Get R4 kubotacputs a short 24" rear tire on.
If you get turf tires you get a even smaller rear tire.
I thinking of getting R1 's and swapping them for Nokian Tr1-2 all weather traction tires on the rear and a loader style tire on the front.

Does anyone have a m7060 with the turfs and how do you like it?

Can it move in any mud?

I have a new M7060 due to be delivered this week. I upgraded to radial tires which will get the wider front tires. They do not show as an option in the USA but my dealer was able to get them.

Mine should look like this:

Amy dealer also can order with the wider radials. I wish I could test drive a turf tire M7060 to see much it is effected by the much shorter turf tires. They are about 35% smaller so top speed of the 12 speed will be reduced from 25 mph to about 17.5 mph. I don't think Kubota installs different gears for the tire options.

I wonder if just switching to wider radials will help some with rutting in the field but no matter what it still is a 6500 lbs tractor with the loader.

Get the Metric Radials, R1-W

I have yet to make ruts with them in the field, in places where the 2wd on bias ply cuts the ground to pieces

I will get the metric radials and see how much improvement they make in the spring before swapping out.

Decided to go with a open platform vs cab, it seems some days I climb on and off the tractor 25 times and really did not want the hassle of climbing in a cab.
Ordered m7060 with two remotes, weights, rear light, loader, 84" bucket, front bucket hyd control, radials, creep gear, and low exhaust.
Should have it in a few weeks.
I got a good trade in on the 2007 M7040 of 25K, new machine was 40.5K.

nice equipment. since you went w/o cab, what was the reason for going with the 7060 over it's predecessor, what did you gain?

The six speed with creep was important. Need lower speed for my root tiller and the higher road gear for moving hay wagons between the farm and fields. The wider front tire and rear radials to help reduce compaction. And really wanted the parking brake. Just turned 57 and wanted to get a new machine that we last with out major issues for the next 15 years.
Old tractor needed some repairs and tires that was going to cost about 3K, so for the difference for new was not that much.

sounds like a good move for you. am sure you'll welcome the features of the new transmission, & the look of the new machine. probably all you'll ever need. enjoy!
btw, hand brake is a nice feature, more positive i think than the pedal ratchet type. one of the reasons i went w/the 8540 was the hyd parking brake. enjoy the new machine break in.

I'd like parking position too, hate the brake lock.

Hope your roads are smooth! 20 MPH too fast here at times, let alone 25 MPH. Depending on what weight you are pulling, you might not be able to use 6th on the road, or at least anything uphill.
