Trading my L2800 gear for L3800 HST... opinions on dealer offer?

It still boggles my mind that there are "some" dealers who have never seen a jerky hitch:confused2:

In no-so-many-words kubota has already admitted they have a problem. As evident by the 4 or 5 valves they have tried:confused2:

We've sold over 110 out of this series and I've never once heard it from a customer. There was a s/n break on the old STD L's (28/3400) where the valve changed to the GL-10 series valve. As far as anything I've seen or heard this was considered a done deal back when that happened.

Neil, I be really happy to see it in action.

Mike and I are doing some e-mailing. I may be taking a ride your way soon.

That valve change was around SN 61000, and only ran until ~ 68000, and then they changed again, and then yet again. But of the 61000 tractors that had the type 1 valve (the worst) how many of those did you sell??? Because I'd bet my monthly subscription charge to TBN :)laughing:) that they were ALL JERKY.

Just because you didnt hear back from the customer, dont meant they werent jerky either. I never called my dealer on it.

I never went back to my dealer with it either; they're like that and I bought it like that.
I will be making sure that what I buy is a better fit for me this time.

Familyman, to answer some of the questions you raised about the Kioti CK line, yes the CK30/35 hst will handle a 6' box blade, but you will be in low range pulling it if the rippers are fully down, otherwise you'll be OK. I'm not sure about the proper size finishing mower, but I believe the reason for the larger decrease in PTO power is a result of the additional weight of the tractor that requires more power to move it.

I had a CK30hst. I really liked it, but had lots of small issues with it. According to members on TBN, my experience is not normal and I probably got a bit of a lemon.

What I liked about the tractor was the heavy construction and resulting weight of the machine. For a 30 hp machine it was a tank. I liked all the features it came with, most have already been mention previously in the thread. I was also thankful for the 4 year warranty.

What I didn't like was the KL130 loader. I think the problem with it was that it was a little oversize for the machine. Not that 60" is too wide for the machine, but the volume of material because of the shape of the bucket was just too much for it. This only seemed to be noticeable when pushing into a pile and trying to break out of it. The loader would lift anything you could put in the bucket and once you got the hang of curling as you push into the pile, it would lift out with not problem at all. There have been others in the Kioti forums complain about the strength of the loader.

I have now traded to a DK45hst. The DK line is a totally different beast. I thought the CK line was luxurious, and I still do compared to similar tractors, but man, the DK is so nice and smooth, with awesome features and incredible power. The KL401 loader is unbelievable, I'm just having a hard time keeping the rear wheels on the ground, and they're loaded and my box blade is on the back.

The CK27 and CK30 are very close in price, and I would choose the CK30. The CK35 seems to be a lot more expensive, even though it's identical with a few more hp. It's not worth the upgrade in my mind. If you are looking at the CK35, ask how much a DK40 would be. The DK's will amaze you for their refinement, features and strength.

Thanks for that, Ken. I did try a DK35hst several years ago. It really was impressive. I'll take a good look at the Kiotis and Cub Cadets before I sign on the dotted line.

I now have two dealer offers and both seem fair, though one is a little fairer.
